Personal Experience & Biography

Dr. Sandhya Rani, is an Organizational Psychologist. She has done her MSc and MPhil and a PhD in psychology from the University of Madras. Her job profile includes Career Guidance, Student Counselling, Occupational Psychology, Psychometry, Research, Training and Counseling — specialized in CBT. She is a member of psychological bodies such as BPS, APA, IAAP, InSPA, IAPS and CCF. Her passion lies in Research and Psychometric Assessments. She specializes in the field of seafarers and their mental health. She has co-authored three books on Parenting, Self-Care and Personal Growth. She is a co-founder and managing partner of Element H Psychological Support Services, where she practices counselling and psychometry. She has over 15 years of experience in counselling and training people belonging to all age groups. Dr. Sandhya Rani is a certified Supervisor for budding counselors.

Her area of specialization is Human Element Analysis especially in the Shipping industry.

Her thesis titled ‘Influence of Psycho-social and environmental factors on cognitive functions among seafarers’ is an intensive study on seafarers and their work environment. As part of her research she has met more than 5000 seafarers from different nationalities like Indians, Filipinos, Danish, Australians, South Africans, Burmese, Chinese, Russians, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Latvians, etc.
